Abu Dhabi to Host Arab Oil Industry Development Conference


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Abu Dhabi will host on Monday a conference on the development of production capacities of oil in the Arab countries and the current and future role in meeting the global energy demand. The two-day conference is organized by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). The gathering will address a number of points regarding the current oil production capacity, existing and future of oil development projects in the Arab States and their role in meeting the global demand for oil, and the role of national and international companies in this area, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported. The Secretariat of OAPEC will present a paper on the reality of hydrocarbon reserves and production in the Arab countries. The conference will also tackle issues pertaining to using of enhanced oil recovery technologies, being important tools for the development of heavy oil reserves and non-traditional sources in the Arab region. It will discuss the most important environmental challenges facing the development of production capacities in the Arab countries. The event brings together specialists from a number of Member States of the OAPEC, Arab and foreign experts of the petroleum industry.
