Kuwait- 'Renew residencies, driving licenses online'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Ministry of Interior has launched a vital project to simplify procedures for immigration and traffic services, reports Al-Rai. Sources were quoted as saying the project involves upgrading of the ministry's Electronic Archive System and connecting the system to the Internet to facilitate services. Sources added that citizens will be able to complete transactions on the Internet without necessarily visiting in person to revise or present documents related to residencies for housemaids and driving licenses, indicating documents will be scanned directly on the ministry's archive system. Also, expatriates can renew their residencies and obtain visit visas for relatives or renew driving licenses on the Internet after submitting necessary documents to be scanned and saved in the archive, sources indicated. In the meantime, the Ministry of Interior has started purchasing the equipment and computers for this purpose, sources said.
