India to continue importing Iranian oil

(MENAFN) Indian Foreign Minister, S M Krishna, stated that his country will not submit to US pressures and cut imports of Iranian oil, reported Tehran Times. Krishna said that his country sees the sanctions imposed unilaterally by the US and other Western countries as nonobligatory, adding that New Delhi needs Iranian oil to meet its energy demand. On the other hand, the minister also said that the international community should address the Iranian nuclear issue through peaceful diplomacy, taking into account the framework of the IAEA. It is worth noting that Tehran says that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
