(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) General manager of a company based in Jebel Ali Free Zone is facing charges of customs evasion at an approximate total amount of AED 140 million.
Sami Salem Al Shamsi, Bur Dubai Chief Prosecutor, said a case was filed in court at the request of Dubai Customs against the manager on charges of evading customs regulations.
According to the charge filed by the prosecution, the company smuggled different brands of cigarettes after processing 237 transactions through Dubai Customs' Mirsal electronic system.
