Gambia, US Camac Energy ink oil contract

(MENAFN) Gambia's Minister of Petroleum, Tenenba Jaiteh, stated that the government inked a petroleum exploration and output contract with US Camac Energy Company, reported Xinhua News. Jaiteh said that the contract allows the US firm, which specializes in exploration, development and operation of oil properties in Africa and South America, to own licenses for Gambia's offshore oil blocks, A 2 and A 5. On the other hand, Camac's Chairman and Chief Executive Secretary, Kase Lawal, stated that the company will help Gambians in studying petroleum engineering in Texas through a donation fund. It is worth noting that such contracts provide Gambia and Africa with reliable and affordable energy, according to Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh.
