Yemen, Kuwait ink USD31m power project deal

(MENAFN) Yemen's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mohammad Al-Sa'adi, stated that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) will provide Yemen with USD31 million to finance a power project, reported KUNA. Al-Sa'adi added that the amount would be spent to fund the electric transmission project, in addition to substations for Yemen's southern areas of Habilain, Yafi'a and Baidha. On the other hand, KFAED's Director General, Abdulwahab Al-Bader, said that his country is committed to helping Yemen in the development of its infrastructure sector. It is worth noting that in July, a group of donors, including Kuwait, will meet to discuss ways to help and support Yemen.
