Kuwait- KGL awarded 'Best Logistics Company'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KGL was awarded as the 'Best Logistics Company' for the second time by the Arabian Business Magazine of the ITP Publishing Group during the Annual Arabian Achievement Business Awards on May 22 at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. The Ministry of Commerce Undersecretary Abdulaziz Al Khaldi handed the award to KGL Holding Vice Chairman Yaqoub Al Wazzan in the presence of Wissam Younan, the Advertising & Media Director of ITP Publishing Group. The awarding ceremony was attended by some KGL executives along with over 200 distinguished guests who were mostly CEOs and Senior Executives of various big companies in Kuwait. Efficient Now on its 12th year, the prestigious Arabian Business Achievement Awards is designed to recognize excellence among business firms and individuals across all business sectors in the Arab region. The jury composed of ITP top executives and editors of the Arabian Business has chosen KGL as the "Best Logistics Company" for 2012 as the Group was able to come through the recession stronger with an improved overall efficiency by putting in place and applying solid Corporate Governance practices. "The financial crisis had a positive impact on KGL as it motivated the company to accelerate organizational consolidation and restructuring," disclosed Al Wazzan on Sunday to the Arab Times. He added that the KGL believes that communal development can lead to a sustainable community through Corporate Social Responsibility where the company engages its employees actively and effectively to work hand in hand with public and non-profit organizations to positively impact communities. "KGL Group could not have been what it is today without the valuable support of its partners, human capital, customers, vendors, bankers and shareholders who have been instrumental to the Company's continued success," he cited. Al Wazzan thanked the ITP Publishing Group for the recognition given to KGL. Aside from KGL, 18 other business firms including outstanding business individuals were also awarded in the fields Banking, Financial, Investment, Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Insurance, Hospitality, Technology, Telecom, Construction and Developing, Industrial and Energy industries.
