Jordan- Engineers to march for higher allowances

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) will hold a march from the Professional Associations Complex in Shmeisani to the Prime Ministry sometime during the coming few days in response to the government's refusal to increase public sector engineers' professional allowances, JEA Vice President Majed Tabbaa said on Sunday. In a statement, Tabbaa said the engineers insisted that their technical allowance be raised from 10 to 15 per cent. The association had informed the concerned ministries about these demands, Tabbaa said, threatening that if they were not met, the engineers would begin a partial work stoppage followed by an open-ended strike.
