UAE to monitor prices during Ramadan

(MENAFN) UAE's Ministry of Economy's Consumer Protection Department's Director, Dr Hashim Al Nuaimi, stated that the department will form several committees to control prices during the holy month of Ramadan, reported Khaleej Times. Al Nuaimi said that the committees will supervise the markets in the Eastern region to make sure they offer strategic commodities during the month and at discount prices. He added the department reached a deal with 320 sale outlets and cooperative societies to mend prices of 1,650 products until the end of the current year. It is worth noting that the department also reached deals with the economic development departments and the municipalities so they won't impose fees on special offers and discounts.
