Qatar- SA Releases 2011 Social Security Beneficiaries Data


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) has disseminated social security data for the year 2011 which includes information on some of the services provided by civil society institutions and various organizations. In its news bulletin recently, the QSA said, "The number of services provided by Family Counseling Center for clients was 4,037, of which males were 48%. The number of beneficiaries of services provided by Social Development Center (SDC) was 4,431, of which the percentage of financial services beneficiaries was highest at 43%, followed by that of educational services beneficiaries at 26%. The SDC carried out 891 training programmes including 86% career guidance programmes and 14% The First Step Programmes. Sixty percent from the total beneficiaries who received training services were women. The number of aids offered by Qatar Foundation for Child and Women Protection amounted to 796: 43% for children and 57% for women. The number of social security beneficiaries offered by Ministry of Social Affairs totaled 11,748, of which females constituted 68%. Housemaid services offered by Department of Social Affairs comprised 4,249, up 10% over 2010, of which the percentage of housemaids services for aging people was highest at 44.8%, followed by people with disability and special needs at 29.1% and 26.1% respectively. The number of volunteers registered in Qatar Volunteer Center formed 8,150, of which females made up 38%, while youth aged 24 and under reached 35% of total volunteers, the QSA report said.
