(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Chancellor Angela Merkel is pressing for faster progress on revamping Germany's electricity network to support the country's transition to renewable energy sources as it switches off its nuclear plants.
Merkel's government decided last year to accelerate the shutdown of Germany's nuclear plants, embarking on a transition to renewable power that is one of its most important projects, according to a report of Reuters.
Merkel said in her weekly video message Saturday that she wants to find out 'what can be done politically to speed things up and also get investors involved more strongly.'
