(MENAFN - Jordan Times) In preparation for the summer tourism season, the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has developed a guidebook to show vacationers where to go in Amman, a JTB official said on Thursday.
The brochure, "99 things to do in Amman", is geared towards both international visitors and Jordanians, and includes 99 suggestions on where to go and what to do in the capital, according to JTB General Director Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat.
He said it will guide tourists towards places to shop, eat and sightsee, and includes a map of Amman.
"Front desk employees at the Kingdom's hotels are currently being trained on how to help guests and tourists use this guide," Arabiyat told The Jordan Times, adding that the guidebook is currently available in English and will be available in Arabic after two weeks.
The brochure, which is also available on the JTB's website www.visitjordan.com, will also be distributed in malls in the Gulf countries, where most of the Kingdom's summertime tourists originate, he added.
In addition, copies will be distributed at border crossings and Queen Alia International Airport.
"We are also preparing other brochures and guides about the activities that are taking place this summer in Jordan, such as the Jerash Festival and Citadel Nights which will be held during Ramadan," Arabiyat said.
Meanwhile, in response to His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to tourism industry representatives in a meeting earlier this week, tourist sites will soon be equipped with free WiFi hotspots, according to Arabiyat.
