Kuwait- Summer season witnesses large number of travel bookings

(MENAFN- Arab Times) A number of travel agencies in Kuwait have started travel bookings for this summer vacations, during which the holy month of Ramadan will fall in July. The bookings from June 25 till the mid of July are way more than the ones after Ramadan, starting from the Eid Al-Fitr holidays till the beginning of September. The reservations to usual travel destinations for Kuwaitis decreased this year due to the geopolitical conditions in the Middle East. Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the new destination for a lot of Kuwaitis this summer, being a city of landscapes, nice weather, low living cost, easy travel measures, and exemption from visa, besides being an Islamic country. Owner of a travel agency, Ali Al-Zo'bi told KUNA that the top destinations this summer are Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Geneva, Paris, London, Turkey, besides the far East countries. London is hosting the Summer Olympic this year, which caused a hike in the flight tickets and hotels reservations prices. Dubai remains one of the most favorite destinations in all seasons, especially the weekends. The unusual destinations for Kuwaitis this summer besides Bosnia and Herzegovina are Japan, China, Brazil and Argentina, director of a travel agency Mohammad Al-Tasabehi said. Kuwaitis are accustomed to spending the holy month of Ramadan inside the country. Expatriates prefer to spend Ramadan back in their countries - especially the teachers. Middle East destinations including Cairo, Damascus, Beirut, are witnessing a low demand, excluding that from expatriates and some Kuwaiti students.
