Kuwait- 'Souk Haramiya' cleansed of almost all criminal activities

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Farwaniya securitymen, led by Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali carried out security campaigns in several areas. They raided a market in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and seized large quantities of spoiled food materials and second-hand furniture. Seven Bedoun and Syrian women were arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. They raided six plots in Farwaniya and arrested 120 expatriates of various nationalities for illegal residency, for involvement in criminal cases and for coming to Kuwait illegally using forged passports. Most of the arrested people were of Sri Lankan, Indonesian, Indian, Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities. During security campaigns at certain suspicious places, three women were arrested for immoral activities and for manufacturing local liquor. They raided four flats on the top floor of a building where copies of immoral movies were made and local liquor was manufactured. The sources said the continuous campaigns by Farwaniya securitymen have reduced illegal activities in the 'Souk Haramiya' (thieves market). In a recent security campaign at the market, securitymen discovered secret doors through which illegal people escaped. The sources added that those arrested in these campaigns especially illegal residents, hawkers and immoral people were referred to the deportation center after criminal cases were registered against them.
