Jordan- Farmers union dismisses reports of tomato exports to Israel

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Jordanian Farmers Union President Odeh Rawashdeh on Tuesday dismissed as baseless reports that Jordan is exporting tomatoes to Israel, stressing that there is no surplus in the local production of tomatoes. He underlined that there are better markets than Israel for Jordanian produce such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey and East European countries, noting that exports to these countries have not been reduced. Rawashdeh called for extending low interest loans to farmers in the Jordan Valley to help them establish agricultural companies.
