(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The Indian family of a 12-year-old boy endured a nightmare for more than 24 hours after he went missing at Wahda Mall.
Mohammed Fazil, who was reunited with his family on Sunday night, was believed to have gone missing after a trip to the mall on Saturday morning with friends who left him behind. He approached a security guard who then called a family friend. The family friend picked Mohammed up and took him to the former's house.
However, Mohammed's family was not informed, leading to an anxious wait for news. According to boy's father, Mustafa Fazil, Mohammed did not have a phone and did not know his family's number. But he did remember the phone number of a family friend. "The security guard called the family friend who went to the mall and took him to his house where he stayed there until Sunday night and was dropped back to the mall where we received him," said Fazil.
According to him, it was not a missing case but more of a confusion and lack of communication. On Saturday, however, Fazil had registered a missing case with thepolice. "I really appreciate the security guard for helping my son get home, though after 24 hours. It was a blunder on the part of our friend who had picked up our son from the mall. They should have immediately called and informed," us he said.
