Kuwait- 'Cabinet's decision on pay hike unfair towards KPTC workers'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) President of Workers Union at Kuwait Public Transport Comp-any (KPTC) Mishal Al-Enezi has demanded HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah amend the decree 405/2012 issued by the Ministers Council to grant remunerations to employees in the public sector, Kuwaitis in the private sector, retirees and people entitled to public assistance, reports Al-Seyassah daily. He said the decision was unfair towards the employees working in KPTC because the increments are decided by the Board of Directors according to their budgets and not by following Article 4. He explained that if the salaries of the KPTC employees are not incremented, it will be a violation of the Constitution which advocates treating citizens equally in rights and duties. He protested that leaving a section of employees working in state-owned companies without salary increments is unfair, warning that the Workers Union in KPTC will carry out strike demonstrations if their demands are not fulfilled.
