(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UAE Pavilion at EXPO 2012 Yeosu attracted the attention of heads of delegates of other participating countries as the mega upon the opening of the mega expo today by the South Korean President.
Senior officials from the UAE's Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, National Media Council (NMC) as well as from Oman, Qatar and South Korean Foreign Ministry toured the pavilion and expressed admiration at the design and use of hi-tech to present the progress the UAE is making in all spheres.
The UAE Ambassador to South Korea Abdullah Khalfan Matar Al Romaithi who officially opened the UAE pavilion at the 2012 Yeosu Expo received the guests who had access to all information on the UAE at the venue.
This international EXPO in South Korea, under the aegis of BIE, which is headquartered in Paris and responsible for managing the organisation of World Expos, has chosen 'Living Ocean and Coast' as its theme and the UAE Pavilion has closely followed that lead. Korean visitors gave a spontaneous applause to the 'The Turtle', main film of the UAE's Pavilion.
Visitors were attracted by the pavilion's building which is complete with its graphic 'time-line' illustrating key stages in the nation's development.
