(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Al Hilal Medical Solutions, an investment firm, is all set to launch the 52-bed multi-specialty facility - The Al Garhoud Private Hospital (GPH) - this month, according to the investment firm's spokesperson.
"We have done a lot of research to procure the high standard of clinical skills, superior technology and world renowned professionals into our team. On the infrastructure front, we have invested over Dh100 million for the Al Garhoud project," Satheesh Kumar, spokesperson of Al Hilal Medical Solutions, told Khaleej Times.
"This 52-bed multi-specialty hospital commits itself to a courteous, distinctive and world-class service as we raise curtains of this exceptional medical service centre. We have ventured into the filed to usher in a revolution in providing elite medical care to the region," he added.
Al Hilal Medical Solutions currently operates a a multi-specialty poly clinic in Jumeirah - Crescent Medical Centre. Besides GPH, Al Hilal is in the process of setting up a 100-bed high end multi-specialty hospital in Mirdif with more facilities, which should be operational in 2014.
"The UAE and the Middle East as a whole represent one of the world's biggest market for outbound medical travel. The UAE alone spent over 2 billion for treatment abroad. We would like to reverse this trend and be a part of the visionary leaders to position Dubai as healthcare destination for the whole world," Kumar said.
To a question about the challenges facing the UAE healthcare industry, he said, "Favorable regulatory environment, introduction of compulsory medical insurance scheme and recruitment of quality human resources continue to be the major challenges of UAE healthcare industry."
The UAE healthcare would experience an exponential growth in the days to come. "The bed to population ratio is seen falling to the current value of 2.3 per 1,000 population in UAE, falling below those prevailing in most developed countries, which needs to be addressed," he said.
