Canadian Bombardier's Q1 profit down to USD190m

(MENAFN) Bombardier's president and CEO, Pierre Beaudoin, stated that in the first quarter, the company's profit fell by 14 percent to USD190 million, compared with USD220 million in 2011's same period, reported AP. Beaudoin said that revenue of the world's third-largest maker of civilian commercial planes fell from USD4.7 billion a year ago to USD3.5 billion. He attributed the decline in profits to the drop in deliveries of Global 5000 and Global 6000, in addition to a fall in deliveries of commercial planes. It is worth noting that the aerospace division of the Montreal-based firm earned USD91 million in the period, down from USD141 million in 2011, whereas revenue fell to USD1.5 billion, compared with USD2.2 billion.
