McDonald's posts weak sales growth in April 

(MENAFN) McDonald's Corp. CEO, Jim Skinner, announced that last month, the chain's global sales went up slightly by 3.3 percent, reported Gulf News.

Skinner attributed weak results to the slowing global economic growth, mainly in the chain's home market, the US, where sales grew by only 3.3 percent, recording the slowest rise in 11 months.

He also said that sales in Japan dropped 3.6 percent, whereas sales in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa were up by 1.1 percent.

Moreover, sales in Europe rose 3.5 percent, beating estimates.

It is worth noting that in order to enhance its performance during the current challenging global economic environment; the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company is improving its menu and modernizing its restaurants.
