Boeing secures two military contracts to deliver Apaches

(MENAFN) Boeing Co secured two contracts for the delivery of AH-64D Apache Block III helicopters for the US military and Taiwan, Reuters reported. The Pentagon awarded Boeing a firm-fixed-price contract of USD486 million for low-rate initial production of 51 remanufactured Apache helicopters in the new configuration. Boeing started manufacturing the helicopters in October, to be completed by the end of November 2014, under a preliminary contract while it was finalizing the terms of the contract with the Army. The second contract, a USD172 million firm-fixed-price contract, includes the delivery of an unspecified number of Apache Block III helicopters to Taiwan in a deal that would run through the end of 2014.
