US Honda sales down 5%

(MENAFN) American Honda Motor Co. said that sales in the US dropped 5 percent last month from 2011's same period, reported AP. The carmaker added that sales fell from 133,650 units in 2011 to 126,999 units, due to weak demand for the company's Acura branded vehicles and hybrid cars. It also said that sales in the Acura division went down 11.5 percent to 11,166 units, whereas sales of Honda cars and trucks slipped 4.3 percent to 115,833. It is worth noting that sales of Honda's CR-V SUVs in the month surged 40 percent from a year earlier to 30,868 units, to become the company's top seller.
