 | S Korea's trade surplus declines to USD2.15b in April  | |

(MENAFN) South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy stated that the country's trade surplus in April fell to USD2.15 billion, compared with USD2.45 billion recorded in March, reported Xinhua News.
The ministry added that during the month, exports shrank 4.7 percent from the same period a year earlier to USD46.24 billion, whereas imports dipped 0.2 percent to USD44.11 billion.
It also said that shipments of telecommunication devices plunged 37.1 percent, whereas overseas exports of ships declined 21.7 percent and exports of petroleum products went down 11.1 percent.
It is worth noting that exports to the Middle East jumped 34.9 percent, while exports to the US 5.6 grew percent and to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), they rose 4 percent, on the other hand, exports to the EU decreased 16.7 percent and exports to Japan fell 11.3 percent.
