IHG plans to recruit 15,000 staff for MENA


(MENAFN) The Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) said it would hire 10,000 to 15,000 staff for its planned expansion in the Middle East, Arabian Business reported. The UK-based hotel operator plans to open 40 new hotels and resorts in the region over the next three to five years, six of which will be in the UAE, said Pascal Gauvin, IHG's COO for India, Middle East and Africa. IHG operates 93 hotels accros the Middle East, represented by five brands InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Steybridge Suites. The hotelier plans to introduce the (Indigo) brand to the region in 2014 with the opening of Hotel Indigo Riyadh in King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Saudi Arabia. The five new properties to be opened this year will include Crowne Plaza properties in Doha, Jordan and Medinah, a Holiday Inn Express in Bahrain and a Holiday Inn in Riyadh.
