Hyundai to recruit extra 877 workers at Alabama plant


(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor Co. announced that during the summer, it will add 877 additional jobs at its Alabama plant as the company plans to produce more Sonatas and Elantras, reported AP. The company added that the assembly plant will add a third shift in September, increasing total employment at the site to over 3,000 people, also allowing the carmaker to build extra 20,000 vehicles during the current year. The South Korean manufacturer said that Sonata and Elantra are the firm's top-selling cars in the US. It is worth noting that Hyundai sales of Sonata rose 6 percent in March from 2011's same period to more than 55,000 vehicles, whereas Elantra sales grew 8 percent to over 44,000 units.
