Kuwait- 'Lift ban on US meat imports'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The municipal committee in charge of food safety issued a recommendation to lift the ban on meat imports from the United States, which was imposed due to mad cow epidemic disease, the President of Food Safety Committee in Kuwait Municipality Mohammad Al-Otaibi said Sunday. Al-Otaibi told KUNA that the committee called upon the Director of Animal Health Administration in the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), to report to it about decisions lifting regarding the ban on meat imports, particularly from Oklahoma and Alabama states. During a committee meeting, a recommendation was also made calling for keeping the ban on Irish meat imports, and cancelling the ban on Spanish olive oil, Al-Otaibi said.
