(MENAFN - Arab News) STC has launched its latest service over the international roaming network by offering AXIS Indonesia Telecom, a global operator and majority owned by STC, pre-paid customers roaming in Saudi Arabia recharge cards to top up their credit, available across all STC branches in the Kingdom.
This unique service, exclusive to STC as the first telecommunications company in the MENA to provide it across international roaming networks, will offer over 250,000 Indonesian Haj and Umrah pilgrims the capability of recharging their AXIS pre-paid mobile phone numbers via recharge cards across all outlets in Makkah and Madinah.
The new service is an added value to the current roaming services launched by STC for AXIS customers. Last year, STC offered AXIS customers the opportunity to make mobile phone calls to STC numbers, priced at local rates, during their time roaming in Saudi Arabia.
AXIS Indonesia Telecommunications, a global operator and majority owned by STC, is the third telecom operator, after VIVA Bahrain and Kuwait, which provides its customers the opportunity to benefit from international roaming services in the Kingdom with the STC recharge cards at local pricing. STC is currently working on expanding this service across the region to companies that are part of the STC Group. Pre-paid mobile phone customers can enjoy international roaming services at local prices, and local credit recharging, through the operators belonging to the STC Group in 16 countries around the world.
This innovative service falls in line with the group's continued efforts to achieve excellence in customer service, which is one of the top priorities for the group to enhance its leadership on local, regional and global levels.
