(MENAFN Press) Paris Gallery, the leading luxury retail in the region, has been awarded first place in the trade category of the 6th Cycle of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business award 2011.

Mr. Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Fahim, Chief Executive Officer of Paris Gallery, received the award in a ceremony held today by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Pleased to win the first place, he said: "We, at Paris Gallery are proud to win this award which reflects the keenness of our wise government, led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to support private sector's role in fostering the economic renaissance and the ensuing process of development taking place in the UAE."

Mohammed A. R. Al Fahim added: "This award comes as a strong push for us at Paris Gallery to fulfill the covenant we took upon ourselves to be a part and parcel of economic renaissance in this country and the consequent process of sustainable development. The award has given us further encouragement to continue our ongoing effort of retaining lead position in the retail sector and also a great incentive to move forward for trying our best to rank top most in many other different fields and occasions".

On the sidelines of the award ceremony, Al Fahim lauded Paris Gallery staff for their sincere efforts and dedication. "I am here to thank all the staff in Paris Gallery, for their sincere efforts and hard work which enabled us to win this award. The principle of equality between all staff irrespective of ranks and grades had a good effect among employees, and boosted their passion for work. We always make efforts within the group to achieve our future vision and target the throne in the retail sector locally as well as regionally."

Al Fahim is of the opinion that during 2011, UAE in general and Dubai in particular, proved its presence in the forefront of the global market in terms of volume sale in the luxurious goods' sector especially in products like perfumes, cosmetics, watches, eyewear, fashion and accessories. This growth has mainly been triggered by the influx of tourists of diverse nationalities and affiliations, led by the Chinese. The country has witnessed growing interest from international tourists not only for regular seasonal tourism purposes but also for the ongoing attractive events like "Dubai Shopping Festival", "Dubai Summer Surprises", " Global village "and many others organized and promoted by the Emirate.
