Kuwait- MEW staff to get overtime pay

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) Engineer Ahmed Al-Jasser has been quoted as saying the ministry has received the approval of the Ministry of Finance to pay shift allowances for employees who worked during the summer of 2010 in addition to the overtime pay for ministry employees, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. In a press release, Al-Jasser said the allowances will be transferred to the accounts of the employees latest by the end of this week or the beginning of the next week. He pointed out the allowances for 2012 will be paid directly and the overtime money in phases. Meanwhile, speaking on the water situation in Kuwait, Al-Jasser said there is no possibility of experiencing water shortage during the next summer. Nonetheless, he has appealed to all consumers to abide by the rationalization of water resources and not to waste water particularly since this commodity costs the state a lot of money. He noted the cost of subsidized water cost the state 10 fold than the money paid by the consumer.
