Qatar Capable of Contributing to World Political Agenda


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) CEO Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker said that Qatar's hosting of UNCTAD XIII was a big event, since it was the first time an Arab country has hosted the conference. He said that the conference was held during a time where the region was going through serious development. He stressed that Qatar's hosting of the event was a testimony to the country's ability to shape global economic and political agenda. Qatar Airways is the official carrier of the UNCTAD XIII, a world-renowned economic conference which will discuss a number of economic issues including the role the lack of job opportunities and income inequality played in revitalizing the Arab spring. UNCTAD XIII conferees will also discuss the social protests that took place at a number of developed countries simultaneously with the Arab protests. He said that he was delighted as the CEO of Qatar Airways that the carrier was transporting world leaders from across the globe into Doha. Qatar Airways' fleet contains 108 airplanes that fly to 113 touristic and business destinations around the world.
