(MENAFN - Arab Times) MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji has insisted on re-opening files of Iranians living in Kuwait.
Al-Turaiji has forwarded questions to First Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud on the Iranian women who allegedly entered Kuwait on visit visas or temporary residence permits but later managed to get permanent residency by marrying Kuwaitis.
He wants to know the exact number of all types of visit visas - commercial, tourist and family - issued to Iranian women from Jan 1, 2007 to 2011, including the names of their sponsors.
Al-Turaiji has also demanded for a detailed report on the number and names of Iranian women granted temporary residence after the expiration of their visit visas and the names of Interior Ministry officials who signed the transfer from visit visa to temporary residence permit. He wants a list of Iranian women who obtained temporary residence permits to complete marriage procedures in Kuwait, those who came to the country on Article 20 (domestic labor) visas and the procedures a Kuwaiti should take if he wants to marry a foreigner.
Establishment Meanwhile, members of the Popular Action Bloc MPs Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Ali Al-Deqbasi, Musallam Al-Barrak and Khalid Al-Tahous have presented a proposal on the establishment of the Arabic Language Complex under the supervision of the Cabinet.
The proponents of the bill disclosed the members of the complex should be experts in Arabic and they must be appointed through a decree.
In another development, the Budget and Final Audit Committee in the Parliament approved Sunday the budget of Kuwait University, while stressing the need to admit high school students who meet the conditions to the current academic year.
Committee Chairman MP Adnan AbdulSamad disclosed the university's budget reached KD 498 million with projected revenues of KD 7 million. He explained the university's budget this year is high because Minister of Education and Higher Education Nayef Al-Hajran is keen on accommodating all the high school students who fulfill all the admission requirements.
