Jordan- Body of Belgian pilot repatriated


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The Turkish airline Onur Air on Wednesday said the body of Olivier Mester, a Belgian pilot who died in Amman on Tuesday, was repatriated to Belgium yesterday. During a press conference, Onur Air officials confirmed Mester's death at a hospital in Amman at 9:00pm Tuesday as a result of wounds from a fall, according to the Turkish newspaper Today's Zaman. The 56-year-old Onur Air pilot fell several metres onto the tarmac at Queen Alia International Airport and was severely wounded. The Turkish daily Hurriyet reported that the incident occurred while he was trying to close the door of his aircraft in Amman shortly before the flight was due to take off for Istanbul.
