(MENAFN - Arab News) The Movenpick Beach Resort in Alkhobar has won the award for the "Best Specialized Resort" for 2011 in Saudi Arabia at the Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards.
The award was received by Turki Al-Mohaisen, managing director, Eastern Rehab Co. for Tourism Investment, and Hiren Prabhakar, resort manager, at a glittering ceremony held in Riyadh.
Nearly 100,000 votes were cast in the 2012 Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards across 22 categories, with over 600 nominations.
The awards were presented by Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman at the Riyadh Exhibition Center.
Abdul Mohsen bin Abdullah Al-Haji, chairman of the jury for Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards, said: "These awards aim to recognize achievements of various businesses and industrial activities within the growing tourism sector of the Kingdom with a view to motivating individuals and companies to achieve the highest possible standards, and to encourage the further development and improvement of tourist products and services."
Hiren Prabhakar, manager at the Movenpick Beach Resort in Alkhobar, was delighted at the award.
"We are proud to have received such a prestigious award within the first year of our operation. It is recognition of our efforts and a fitting compliment to each and every one of our employees, who worked tirelessly to provide personalized service of the highest standard for our guests," he said.
