(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) The Ministry of Energy and industry will participate in the complementary meetings of the GCC industry undersecretaries due to open tomorrow, Wednesday at the GCC General Secretariat Headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meetings, the participants are to discuss various topics of interest to industrial and commercial sectors in the GCC states pending to be submitted to the two committees of trade cooperation and industrial cooperation, which be held at Riyadh on 30 April.
Engineer Saeed Mubarak Al Kuwari, the Director of Industrial Development at the Qatari Ministry of Energy and Industry, will represent his country to these meetings.
For his part, Abdullah bin Juma Al-Shibli, the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the GCC Secretariat general said the GCC undersecretaries will discuss a number of important topics and industry in the GCC States, including the follow-up study of the "industrial roadmap of the GCC States" and follow-up study assessing the achievements and obstacles hindering the GCC joint industrial action.
They will also review the suggested solutions to activate and develop , as well as exemption of the national and foreign oil companies, as well as the franchise companies, of input tax (duties) of the GCC States, said Abdullah bin Juma Al-Shibli.
The Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the GCC Secretariat general explained that the GCC undersecretaries will discuss the proposed request to create the Gulf Federation for iron and steel in the GCC States, adding that they will also get acquainted with the stages made so far on the study of "development strategy of non-oil industrial exports of the GCC countries."
