(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Turkish Airlines announced today the launch of the new Airbus 321 aircraft on the Abu Dhabi to Istanbul route. The unique new Airbus will offer passengers wider seats and enhanced comfort, with a markedly wider aisle for faster boarding and easier cabin movement.

Turkish Airlines will be operating the new Airbus A321 across four weekly direct flight to Istanbul departing from Abu Dhabi every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 02:40 local time, according to a joint press release.

The A321 typically accommodates 180 passengers in a two-class configuration, with 16 in business class and 164 in economy. The new interior creates a modern, fresh environment, while also providing a significant increase in overhead stowage, a noticeable reduction in noise, along with options for ambience lighting. Additionally, it weighs less than the previous-generation interiors, and like each member in Airbus' best-selling A320 family of jetliners, the A321 offers the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint in its class.

"We are delighted to see more services being offered to passengers at Abu Dhabi International Airport, including access to the very best in aviation technology, ensuring maximum choice and comfort. The launch of the state of the art A321 supports our goal in becoming a leading world class airport, and we look forward to continuing to work with our airline partners to support their development initiatives that ultimately benefit our passengers with more choices."

"The airport excels in providing state of the art services to all its passengers such as hospitality lounges, free Wi-Fi and Duty Free offerings with world known brands. The airport also emphasizes on its award winning, easy and fast arrival and departure services to ensure passengers continue to enjoy efficient and convenient travel experience," Al Haddabi added.

General Manager of Abu Dhabi for Turkish Airlines Samil Karakas commented: "We are pleased to announce the launch of the new Airbus A321, allowing passengers to benefit from the state-of-the-art cabin design with wider seats, latest in-flight entertainment systems and award winning catering. Its operational flexibility allows Turkish Airlines to benefit from its unique comfort features and offer the very best onboard services for its passengers."
