UAE- New church complex for Al Ain 

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The foundation stone for the St Dionysius Orthodox Church of Al Ain will be laid on April 20 at 4.30pm.

The stone laying ceremony and rites will be officiated by Bishop Dr Yuhanon Mar Dimetrios, metropolitan of the Delhi diocese of the 2,000-year old Malankara Othodox Syrian Church, said Fr Saji Abraham, Vicar of the parish and president of the construction committee.

Bishop Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim, Diocesan Metropolitan of Bangalore will also participate in the ceremony. The complex, comprising a parish hall, VIP suite, toilet block, sub station and security room, will be located in Mezyad district of Al Ain.

The new parish hall is designed to accommodate more than 1,200 people. The total cost of the project will be Dh13 million, said Dr. Jacob George, Finance Committee Convener.

The construction committee also includes Dr George Mathew, DKT Sam, KS Chacko, George Mathew, Varghese Cherian, Thomas T Daniel, Dr Thomas Mathew, and Philip Mathew.
