(MENAFN - Arab News) Despite a positive close on Wednesday, the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dipped 48.92 points or 0.65 percent to 7,524.36 yesterday. The index remained in negative zone throughout the day due to lackadaisical attitude of the investors.
Indices of Saudi sectors performed unwell as four sectors accumulated 111.19 points and eleven sectors lost 715.49 points.
Insurance and Real Estate Development sectors outperformed, up 1.47 percent and 1.38 percent respectively.
On the worst side, Multi-Investment sector became the biggest loser of the day, down by 2.3 percent or 83.07 points to close at 3,532.55.
Only SABB and bellwether SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) among heavy weights managed a gain, surged by 1.65 percent and 0.48 percent respectively.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) and Al-Rajhi Bank tumbled 4.94 percent 2.21 percent respectively.
The trading activity remained roughly 28 percent lower than that of Wednesday.
More than 508.7 million shares worth SR10.6 billion changed hands on the Saudi stock market.
Atheeb Telecom topped the value chart on the Saudi stock market with a turnover of SR1.14 billion. Emaar KSA led the volume chart with trades of over 70.6 million shares.
Atheeb also recovered a portion of previous week's losses and topped the performance chart at Tadawul, soared up 9.84 percent to close at SR20.65.
Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 86 to 52 and the prices of 10 companies remained unchanged.
