Sony to slash 6% of global workforce

(MENAFN) Sony's CEO and President, Kazuo Hirai, said that the firm would cut 6 percent of its global workforce, reported AP. Hirai added that the move to slash 10,000 jobs would enable the company to reduce costs and turn around its TV business. Moreover, the electronics and entertainment firm plans to expand its business in medical equipment and emerging markets. It is worth noting that Sony forecasts its annual net loss for the fiscal year through March to grow to USD6.4 billion.
