France posts 0.3% rise in Feb industrial output 

(MENAFN) France's national statistics bureau Insee said that the country's industrial production in February rose by 0.3 percent from a month earlier, reported Xinhua News.

The agency added that in the period, output of transport equipment was stable; however, fierce competition from Asian markets hampered the country's textile and leather production, which suffered from a 1.5 percent drop.

It also said that output in mining and energy activities grew 10.2 percent; nevertheless, production in electrical and electronic equipment, other manufacturing and construction, was down.

It is worth noting that French manufacturing output in February went down by 1.2 percent, due to a 5.1 percent decline in output of coke and refined petroleum products.
