(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Qatari women seized the opportunity to step up their job search efforts at Qatar Career Fair (QCF) on Wednesday.

A large turnout of young female students and graduates in search of a promising career attended QCF Ladies Day, which took place at Qatar National Convention Centre. In an effort to improve their workplace prospects and edge out the competition, dozens of applicants visited the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) stand to learn more about educational and training opportunities.

Their career ambitions may have differed, but women of all ages were united in their praise for Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, an inspirational role model who has campaigned tirelessly for their educational and social advancement.

"Qatari women can do practically anything. from starting their own business to pursuing a specific field of interest. Sheikha Moza is a positive example for all of us," said 22-year-old Fatima Al Khuzaei, who has a diploma in banking from College of the North Atlantic in Qatar.

Groups of girls from both public and private high schools across Doha also participated in the career fair. Many students were keen to find out about educational programmes that would help them gain the necessary skills to meet the market's expanding needs.

Menya Al Ghali, 17, said she would like to pursue a career in sport and fitness. She made a beeline to the QF stand to find out about the organisation and the educational initiatives available to help young women achieve this goal.

"Sheikha Moza is the reason why there is gender equality between men and women in Qatar," said Menya, who will graduate from school this year. "There is definitely room for us girls to succeed I hope there will be a high demand for sport and fitness instructors so that I can pursue my interest."

QF has consistently demonstrated its commitment to involving women in the country s development and advancing their role within the workplace.
"At Qatar Foundation, we appreciate the significant role that women play in our country's economic future and development. We believe they are a valuable asset and we aim to provide them with a workplace environment that is conducive to their success," said Khaled Helaly, HR Strategy and Business Planning Director at QF. "Young female graduates should have high aspirations for the future and be confident in the knowledge that there will be ample opportunities available for them at QF."

The fair, which started on 1 April and concludes tomorrow (5 April), actively seeks to recruit new talent for various sectors of the country's economy, placing Qataris in key positions that will enable them to make a significant contribution to national development goals.
