(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is amongst best banks globally as it is offering assistance to promote human development, eradicate poverty, improve health and educational services in the developing countries, a senior Kuwaiti official said Tuesday.
Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shimali, speaking to KUNA on sidelines of meetings of IDB council of governors, commended contributions of IDB to boosting trade exchange and economic integration between its member countries.
He said these meetings help develop relations between member states and thus honor aspirations of peoples.
On relations with Sudan, Al-Shimali said they were progressing in different domains.
The meetings of the IDB council of governors began earlier today, where Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir called on member countries to make good use of their resources.
IDB President Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Ali said achieving balanced economic development was the major challenge facing the IDB. "We have to find solutions to overcome policies imposed by the international organizations which undermine future of countries." Ali said food security for Muslims was an integral part of global food security.
