Indian airlines boost flight services to GCC 

(MENAFN) India's Ministry of Civil Aviation said that Air India and Air India Express are set to increase their weekly flight services to the Gulf region from 430 per week to 471 for the summer schedule which starts on March 25, Arabian Business reported.

Both carriers will increase Dubai destination flights from 94 to 109, and to Abu Dhabi from 39 to 47 to Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah from 33 to 49, and to Doha from 12 to 21 services, and to Saudi Arabia from 42 to 48 flights.

The ministry also said that the Indian carriers will further increase flights to 577 in winter 2012.

Air India added Visakhapatnam on the existing Hyderabad to Dubai service, and is introducing a direct link between Delhi and Bahrain.

The carrier is also increasing flights frequency between Delhi and Riyadh from two to four flights per week.

Air India is planning to launch two additional flights per week on the Thiruvananthapuram - Kochi - Dammam and Kozhikode to Dammam routes.

The airline will also operate four flights per week between Delhi and Sharjah via Amritsar and three times per week via Lucknow.
