(MENAFN - Jordan Times) The US Medical Tourism Association (MTA) on Monday launched the Jordan Health and Wellness Destination Guide, which will help promote the Kingdom's medical tourism industry worldwide.
The 172-page guide details the Kingdom's healthcare infrastructure, including the available facilities, staff and treatments, and also includes a directory of medical facilities and providers.
The guide is intended to introduce Jordan's medical tourism sector to a wider audience, according to MTA CEO Jonathan Edelheit.
He noted that the guide will be translated into several languages and also be available on the association's website: www.medicaltourism.com.
"Lately, visitors from all over the world are discovering what people in the Middle East have known for many years: that Jordan offers outstanding quality healthcare at very low cost," the introduction to the guide says.
It also lists most of the medical procedures conducted in Jordan, noting that patients come to undergo a variety of treatments.
"Patients from all over the world are now travelling to Jordan for a wide range of medical procedures including orthopaedics, cardiology, cancer treatment and much more. These are performed at internationally accredited hospitals equipped with cutting-edge technology, and staffed by medical professionals fluent in multiple languages and trained at the world's finest medical institutions," it says.
A list of spas, hotels and resorts in the Kingdom is also included in the guide, which was launched on the sidelines of the International Medical Tourism Congress that concluded yesterday at the Dead Sea.
More than 350 participants from 25 countries attended the two-day conference, organised by the Private Hospitals Association.
