(MENAFN Press) Jordan Football Association (JFA) and PepsiCo-Jordan - winner of the 2009 and 2010 King Abdullah II Award for Excellence “ signed on Sunday, a new agreement positioning PepsiCo-Jordan as the official beverage sponsor of national football teams.

The agreement was inked by JFA's Vice President Mohammad Alayyan and PepsiCo-Jordan's General Manager Eng. Nidal Hamam during a signing ceremony held at the JFA headquarters. The signing ceremony was attended by Captain Mahmoud Jawhari, Advisor of JFA's President His Royal Highness Prince Ali, Mohammed Samara, member of JFA's Executive Committee, PepsiCo-Jordan's Marketing Manager Areej Helou and Public Relations Manager Mohammed Arabiyat, in addition to a number of JFA departmental managers.

By virtue of this agreement, PepsiCo-Jordan will sponsor all the Association's activities and national teams. The Company will also sponsor a local tournament, organized by the Association and set to take place during the summer, which aims to unveil athletic football talents across the Kingdom.

Alayyan began by welcoming the attendees to JFA, which he described as the home of Jordanian football. During his speech, Alayyan also conveyed the warm regards of His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, VP of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and President of JFA. Furthermore, he highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between JFA and PepsiCo-Jordan, which he described as a leading and prestigious national company. Alayyan went on to explain that by virtue of this partnership, which was established several years ago, PepsiCo-Jordan sponsored the activities of the Prince Ali Centers which introduced a number of national football stars from different age groups. He stated that this achievement would not have been possible without PepsiCo-Jordan's sponsorship, support and qualified technical teams.

Alayyan highlighted that signing this agreement, which positions PepsiCo-Jordan as the official beverage sponsor of Jordanian national teams, is in conjunction with an historic event for the Al Nashama team who reached the fourth and final round in the World Cup 2014 qualifications. Furthermore, and as part of the agreement, PepsiCo-Jordan is actively participating in the search for football talents across the Kingdom, which affirms the Company's genuine interest in discovering and developing fresh talent.

In turn, Hamam commented, "We are proud to partner with JFA as it is an Association that shares our vision to support, encourage and hone promising football talents. We are confident that these important elements will contribute to elevating the standards of football in the Kingdom."

Hamam added that PepsiCo-Jordan is a firm believer in the importance of motivating young athletes and providing them with a sound sports environment that enables them to unleash their talents and hone their skills. He also explained that this will bring forth an athletic generation that is capable of shaping and elevating the future of Jordanian football.

Furthermore, Hamam commended JFA's diligent efforts in promoting this sport and in supporting young national teams. He also expressed hopes that the upcoming league will bring forth exciting matches and unveil a number of athletic talents.

Hamam stated that PepsiCo-Jordan seeks to highlight Jordan's national identity and reach out to Jordanian youth and that supporting JFA and the Prince Ali Centers is an invaluable opportunity to do so. He also explained that sports is an ideal outlet for youth to direct their energy and encouraged all companies to support the Association and help the Al Nashama team in reaching its full potential. Hamam went on to wish the Al Nashama team the best of luck in qualifying for the finals in the World Cup 2014 in Brazil and stated that PepsiCo-Jordan is keen on investing its efforts in supporting the Al Nashama team during the World Cup's fourth round.

Alayyan and Hamam also conducted an interactive Q&A session with attending media representatives, which focused on the terms of the agreement and the key role it plays in positively supporting Jordanian youth.
