(MENAFN - Arab Times) MP Osama Al-Munawer disclosed Saturday that "(the Justice Bloc) does not mind submitting a law that requires (women) to wear the hijab (headscarf) following the adoption of the decency law."

The Islamist and Justice Bloc member was speaking on the plans to submit a group of proposals that, according to the bloc's MPs, comply with Shaira Law. In an interview with Al-Watan TV, he reportedly stated: "We do not fear the implementation of God's law."

Al-Munawer explained that "cosmetic surgeries lead to fatalities; therefore the decency law forbids them, especially sex-change surgeries and lip enhancement among others".

He further stressed that the amendment of Article 79 of the Constitution, which states that: "no law may be promulgated unless it has been passed by the National Assembly and sanctioned by the Amir," will be approved by MPs of various backgrounds not only Islamists.

MP Mohammed Hayef, chairman of the bloc, had earlier stated the article should further stipulate that all laws must be in line with Islamic Sharia.

Al-Munawer said the Justice (Al-Adala) Bloc will meet to discuss the priorities of the month of April, assuring that this legislative term may witness the prohibition of usurious interest and solutions to the issue of loans.

Agencies add:
Parliamentary majority bloc is participating in several meetings in the diwaniyas of their MPs to discuss the priorities and the formation of an investigation committee to follow up with the government regarding the steps taken to carry out the priorities, reports Al-Shahed daily.

Sources informed that the bloc will refuse to accept any excuses from the government if there is any delay in carrying out the necessary procedures.

In another development, nearly 84 percent of the respondents who participated in an online survey conducted by Al-Seyassah daily support the proposal on forming a parliamentary committee for morals and ethics, while 14 percent oppose it and 2 percent did not have any opinion on the subject, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

As many as 300 people had participated in the survey and majority of them supported the Salafist current's proposal on forming an ethics committee to monitor the behavior of MPs.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Information Mohammed Al-Sanousi was recently quoted as saying he hopes the National Assembly will perform its role effectively to raise political and economic awareness in all fields for a comprehensive development of the country, reports Annahar daily.

In an interview with the daily, he said sarcastically he is lucky to get the front seat to watch the National Assembly 'play'.

He affirmed the nation is in dire need of MPs not 'crises' makers. He pointed out the Parliament is nowhere near to the Parliament of the 20th century.

Meanwhile, he also took this opportunity to criticize those who 'nig-nagged' him during his tenure at Minister of Information. He went on to say negligence and irresponsible attitudes are devilish tendencies.
