(MENAFN - Arab News) Zain becomes first local telecom provider to launch permission-based advertising.

From the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) said yesterday it has become the first Saudi Arabian telecom operator to offer permission-based mobile advertising in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Permission-based mobile advertising has been launched by a number of the world's leading international mobile operators over recent years. Zain Dealz customers will be able to choose to receive advertisements and offers for their favorite brands direct to their mobile phones. Zain Dealz consumers will be able to match ads and offers that reflect their personal interests, ranging from fashion to technology. Zain Dealz customers will be provided with simple opt in and opt out options for this service.

Advertisers are becoming increasingly alert to the opportunities offered by mobile advertising. For many brands and service providers, mobile telephony permission-based advertising has become one of the most exciting developments in their sector because it enables extremely accurate targeting of customers.

Ahmed Al Faifi, COO, Zain KSA said: "Zain KSA is excited to launch Zain Dealz today. This is another example of the way Zain strives to be at the forefront of innovation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the latest technologies and services to our consumers."

Closely supported by Mobile Telecommunications Company KSC (Zain Group), a leading emerging telecoms player operating in 7 countries in the Middle East, serving over 39.6 million active customers, Zain KSA says it looks forward to playing a prominent role in improving mobile communications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
