(MENAFN - Arab News) Saudi equities spent the entire day with impressive gains. The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) extended gain for the eleventh consecutive day yesterday. It opened at 7,271.82 points, which proved to be the intra-day low, subsequent trading sent the index up 0.89 percent to close at 7,336.21 points. Since Dec. 31, 2011 Tadawul has achieved an increment of 14.31 percent.

All market cap indices closed the day in the green zone. This time Micro Cap performed well and advanced over 1.4 percent for the day to close at 11,110.16 points.

Sector indices at Saudi stock market ended the day with modest gains. Transport sector remained at top showing an increment of 2.7 percent. Banks & Financial Services added 200 points, a growth of 1.2 percent. The Media & Publishing sector switched its position from top performer of previous day to the worst performing sector of the day, down slightly 0.65 percent.

Market participants responded positively as turnover at Tadawul went up by 12.6 percent to 533.5 million shares; its total liquidity of SR11.5 billion increased by 4.1 percent over the previous trading day.

Al-Rajhi Bank and SAFCO among large cap stocks showed a daily jump of 2.21 and 2.18 percent respectively. Samba Financial Group shares dipped into negative territory, a decline of 0.48 percent.

Alinma Bank topped the volume and value chart on the Saudi Stock market for the second consecutive trading day on Saturday. Its turnover reached to 110.6 million shares worth SR1.4 billion. The bank captured a relative market share of 21 percent on volume basis and 12 percent on value basis.

The market breadth was positive with 95 stocks witnessing advances against 39 stocks recording declines. New players Takween Advanced Industries and Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company dominated the top gainers chart. Prices of both rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to close at SR55 and SR36.30 respectively.

On the other side, Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. was among the biggest decliners, which decreased by 6.14 percent to close the day at SR19.15.
