(MENAFN - Arab Times) The family of 17-year-old Kuwaiti youth Ali Faisal Al-Ali, who was arrested in Bahrain for allegedly carrying out sabotage operations, says it disowned him two years ago and has no contact with him, reports Al-Rai daily.
The family, however, admitted that it was shocked on hearing news regarding Ali's arrest. A Bahraini court is expected to issue its sentence in the case on Feb 27.

Meanwhile, an Asian was arrested along the Sixth Ring Road for consuming alcohol.

Traffic officers rushed to the location after receiving information about a vehicle that blocked the road. When the officers approached the car, they realized the driver, an Asian, was under the influence of alcohol.

He was referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.

On the other hand, a youth was arrested along the Arabian Gulf Street for the same offense. He also tried to attack the officers in a desperate attempt to dodge arrest.

A patrol team assigned in the area asked the youth to pull over after noticing the erratic movement of his vehicle. When the officers demanded for his identification documents, they discovered he was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to a nearby police station for questioning and other necessary legal action. In another development, an unidentified youth was arrested for performing car stunts on the Arabian Gulf Street.

After receiving a call from passersby who saw the reckless acts of the youth, the securitymen rushed to the location but the youth fled from the scene upon noticing police presence.

Despite the hot chase, the officers failed to arrest the suspect, so they circulated copies of a detailed description of the car to various checkpoints in the country.

The youth was arrested at one of the checkpoints later and he was referred to the relevant security department for prosecution.
