UAE- Hamriyah Free Zone boosts ties with Turkey 

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) A high-level Turkish delegation recently visited Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and met Rashid Al Leem, Director General of Sharjah department of seaports and customs and Hamriyah Free Zone to strengthen bilateral business association and investment promotion.

The delegation led by Ahemt yakici, undersecretary for Turkey's Economy Ministry, was comprising Elif Comoglu Ulgen, Consul-General of Turkey in UAE and other high profile officials.

Rashid Al Leem briefed the delegates about HFZA's achievements and future plans, including the role played by HFZA as a growth catalyst that contributes to Sharjah and UAE's economic growth and prosperity.

"There is a great scope to boost our trade and investment ties with Turkey which can be achieved through enhanced information exchange, and communication and co-operation between enterprises, in particular, small and medium enterprises in both countries," Al Leem said.

Ahemt Yakici showed great interest in investment opportunities at HFZA and appreciated its highly developed infrastructure and its successful ranking as a second biggest free zone in the region.

Turkey's economy ministry has been serving the nation since 1920 with a primary focus to boost domestic and foreign direct investment through creating conducive investment climate. Free zones is one of the top legislations, others being export, import and foreign direct investment.

"We are aiming to touch the 6,000-mark this year. We extended our services into several new markets. Our global coverage now encompasses more than 138 countries, and our sights are set on penetrating more new markets to empower investors in their ventures," Al Leem added
